laying the loser - West Brom

18 minutes gone and the first goal by Villa now to look at the Lay the loser strategy. The lay odds for the lay the loser which is West Brom were just at 23 and the back odds for the 1-2 scoreline were at 38. There was a good profit scenario but I could not work that much liability. I would surely expect Villa to win the game and would perhaps go with just the lay bet but still the odds are very big.

I think I will err on the side of caution. I don't have a huge betting bank so I will have to leave that one alone.

Just looked again and the odds are not much changed and interestingly the correct score market is not In Running on Betdaq so if you wanted the insurance bet on the 1-2 scoreline then you would have to do that on Betfair.

getting miffed and impatient

Never been that patient as a person but when I have paid for an item and there is a never ending series of hold ups I start to get miffed.
I should not have been ordering stuff in the holiday around Christmas for a start. I ordered on the 29th of December and for me if the item is is stock then why not send out the same day. Ok there will be no work done on the first of January, you have to expect people to have a day off to nurse the bad heads from the night before.
So the guitar gets sent out on the 2nd of January and now it is the 8th and there is still no sign of my order. OK there is a bank holiday here in Spain on the 6th of Jan, due to the three kings arriving with the presents for the children.
The music shop told me I could expect the guitar on the 5th and when it didn’t come then it had to be the 7th of January when every one is back at work. Still not here so I am calling the carriers and one person tells me that a lorry broke down in France coming from Germany and my parcel must be stuck there. At the same time another person sends me an email, which is a late reply to one I sent a couple of days ago which says I should contact the store to find out what has happened.
I call the store and they are not too helpful, but put a call in to the carrier in Germany and I get a message then that maybe tomorrow or perhaps Monday.
Such is life....
It is a bit like always getting in the wrong queue at the super market. That always gets me too. I have now accepted that is what will inevitably happen so I can get quite sanguine when I see all the other queues moving faster.

The next thing will be to start getting the practice in and learning how to be a rock god...

The Russians are here in Girona

I spotted a blog post last night on the Discover Girona Blog about an exhibition that is on in Girona and ends 18th January. I love the work of the Russian Avant Garde painters so I am delighted that I found the blog post.

I plan to go and visit the exhibition in the next few days and I will take a few pictures and come back with a review of the exhibition following the trip. In the mean time do go to the Discover Girona website and have a lok at the couple of images there.

The Russians and the German Expressionists and the Fauve painters in France were all connected by influence. My favourite of these are the German expressionists and in particular a painter called Willi Sitte, he was an East German artist and I saw a huge exhibition of his work while in German some years ago. I loved the paintings so much I lashed out for the large book which accompanied the show.

The Caixa de Girona Foundation at the Fontana d'Or have put on a wonderful exhibition of some important figures in the Russian avant-garde movement. Works by Kandinsky, Malevich, Goncharova, Falk, Filonov and Olga Rozanova amongst others trace the evolution of the abstract expressionism movement from both impressionist and symbolist roots.

The show is open 11am until 2pm daily and again in the evening from 5pm. If you have been already then why not drop me a line in the comments or in the contact form below. Looking forward to hearing from you. Or why not get in touch and I would love to meet you there and visit the paintings together.
